Who is Mario Mazzer, the designer of the shadow
A graduate in Architecture in 1978, Mario Mazzer, in 1979 obtained a diploma in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano.
He studied with the great masters of Italian design, such as Castiglioni and Zanuso, standing out in numerous international competitions including the Young & Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
In the field of industrial design, Mazzer has collaborated with some of the most prestigious design companies: Artemide, Busnelli, Martex, Meson’s, Permasteelisa, Poliform, Varaschin, Zanotta.
For years he has supported ShadeLAB in developing new types of awnings, solutions designed to meet the growing architectural needs of outdoor, residential and urban furnishing.

The vision of Mario Mazzer, his language translated into forms, fabrics, elegance and functionality, has earned ShadeLAB several international awards. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most important awards internationally. Awarded in 2010 to the Shan awning, it is considered one of the most important recognitions in the field of design.
Iconic, elegant and minimalist, Ilios is the clear example of "architecture of shade". Its balance between form and function was awarded in 2012 with the Red Dot Design Award.
Aire stands out for design excellence, formal minimalism and attention to detail, qualities that reflect a refined, functional design. The model was awarded, in 2013, the prestigious IF Product Design Award.
La tenda Aire by Shadelab was awarded in 2014 the Interior Innovation Award from the German Design Council, for its excellence in contemporary furnishing.
The Good Design Award awarded Yuki in 2014 for the blend of refined aesthetics, compact technical solutions and attention to performance. A clear example of functional elegance.
Frame wins the Iconic Awards 2016 – Product “Best of the Best” for its distinctive architectural design and engineering innovation, combining minimalist aesthetics with high-level technical performance.
Recognised for its design elegance, structural compactness and outdoor innovation, Feng, in 2018, received the renowned Good Design Award.
